The position of a Digital Marketer/Content Creator is one of the company’s innovations in order to compete favorably in a dynamic business world.

The Digital Marketer/Content Creator at MEC will play a key role in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring content across our range of digital channels (facebook, youtube, tik tok, instagram, twitter, linkedin, whatsapp, telegram, pinterest, wechat, skype, quora, snapchat e.t.c.). Ensuring our digital presence across all social media handles that will supports and enhances an efficient delivery of our business operations.

This role requires someone who is creative and can identify, create, manage and deliver digital content using a range of techniques, across channels including websites, social media and webinars. The role will work across a range of projects in the organization and therefore effective working relationships will need to be formed with various internal team members and our targeted clients. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is passionate about digital marketing and results oriented. The role would suit a digital marketer looking for a new varied challenge or is looking to take the next step up in their career. On this job, there will be opportunities to develop your current digital marketing skills and learn new ones.

Job responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of our digital platforms and provide thought-provoking, educational, and captivating contents.
  • Build up creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering digital content and stay current on the most recent developments in digital marketing.
  • Plan, produce, and publish articles of digital content for usage across all of our digital channels in order to increase our daily page engagement.
  • Create graphics and edit photos and videos.
  • Create daily awareness and interest within our audiences and targeted clients, driving traffic to all our pages.
  • Monitor, analyse and check report on the performance of our digital platforms using google analytics, and using the data to inform future activities for our company.
  • Offering suggestions to company management on service improvement for the company.
  • Create, Proof read and manage contents on the company’s online platforms.
  • Train and share knowledge with internal team members to empower them for efficient delivery in their job.
  • Stay current with information and trends about the company’s business and their competitors.
  • Attend student recruitment events and other social meetings on behalf of the company.
  • Act responsibly with data as part of your role for the company.
  • Take on other task well-suited with your job role or as the company may assign.
Person specific requirements
  • Minimum of OND in any discipline.
  • Having a good IT/computer skill.
  • Have significant experience working in a digital marketing role.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and proven experience in producing digital and inspiring contents.
  • Good knowledge and experience in running and managing digital marketing campaigns.
  • Having relevant digital marketing qualification and/or training will be an added advantage
  • Good creative skills with keen attention for detail.
  • Proficiency in market analysis and trend identification
  • Basic experience in web content management.
  • Ability to host and manage webinars would be an added advantage.
  • Experience developing and managing social media campaigns across channels such as Youtube, Twitter, Pinterest, Whatsapp, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, e.t.c. using the right tools.
  • Experience of photography and creating/editing images, using packages such as Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge in developing email marketing campaigns, preferably using Dotmailer or similar web-based solutions would be an added advantage.
  • Experience of video production, including filming, editing (using the right tools).
  • Understanding of digital analytics and metrics, their importance and the tools to monitor, manage and evaluate them, such as google analytics.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and structure work effectively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven Sales and marketing experience
  • Good customer relationship skills.
  • Good proof-reading skills.
  • Strong desire to learn new things and take up new challenges.
  • Previous experience in advertising sales and marketing
