The position of a Student Recruitment Counselor is a core position at MEC, considering the company’s line of business. We are looking for experienced student counselors who understand the study abroad industry and has vast knowledge promoting student recruitment activities to several study destinations.

This role requires someone who possesses a strong desire to learn and ever willing to explore cutting edge opportunities in order to unleash creative ideas that will help inspire prospective students. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual who is passionate about embracing new challenges and obtaining results for the company.

Job responsibilities

Oversee the daily student recruitment activities at respective branch office.
Build up creative ideas, suggest new innovative ways of delivering the company’s student recruitment activities in order to attract only the right set of students.
Supporting colleagues in delivering recruitment events, such as in-school talks, campus visits, open day visit and student recruitment fairs.
Providing prospective students with opportunities to learn more about the institution.
Providing in-depth counseling to prospective students and offering them the opportunity to select from institutions that matches their financial budget.
Defining and analyzing the academic requirements for each program of study at selected institutions.
Providing insights to prospective students regarding several study abroad destination, and allowing them to make their choice on a suitable destination that aligns with their pursuits.
Planning marketing and communication strategies to attract students.
Representing the company’s partner institutions at international recruitment fairs.
Providing prospective students with thorough visa counseling tips on specific student visa requirements and application to their chosen study destination.

Person specific requirements

Minimum of bachelor degree in any discipline.

Having a good IT/computer skill.
Possess at least 2 years experience in the same or similar role.
Possession of experience in international student recruitment and understanding the challenges within this industry will be an added advantage
Good creative skills with keen attention for detail.
Prior experience working in a target driven environment with a proven record of successfully meeting/exceeding set targets will be an advantage
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to host and manage webinars would be an added advantage.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and structure work effectively.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proven sales and marketing experience
Self-motivated
Good customer relationship skills.
Proactive approach to problem solving
Strong desire to learn new things and take up new challenges.
Previous experience in advertising sales and marketing
Ability to work independently and in a team
