At MEC be rest assured that we are committed to helping you all the way.
OVERVIEW
Multinational Educational Consulting (MEC) plays a vital role during admission processing for students seeking to study in an educational institution (either home or abroad), particularly at international contexts. We are instrumental in navigating the complexities of the admission process, ensuring that students receive the support they need to successfully enroll in their chosen institutions.
Our student applications are processed in a timely manner. However, processing time may vary from one school to another; some foreign schools are able to turn around applications to offer letters within 24 hours while others can take a couple of days or even weeks. On the other hand most Nigerian institutions have different admission criteria, making admission processing time differ from one institution to another. The bottom line is that all our students end up with admission offers in good time.
All our overseas partner institutions are committed to providing first class treatment to our student’s applications without any delay. Most students end up delaying themselves in the process especially when their admission offer comes and they do not have their tuition deposit ready. In any situation, MEC is always there to assist students accordingly. When admission is on the borderline we let the student know, although we do not have the right to issue admission offer; we however can counsel our students into the right course per time except when they fail to take heed to our advice.
At MEC be rest assured that we are committed to helping you all the way.

Some of Our Responsibilities During Admission Processing

Guidance and Support
We provide advice and counseling assistance to prospective students throughout their application process. Here we help prospective students to identify suitable universities or colleges that suit their interest in terms of location, tuition, course modules e.t.c. We try as much as possible to select institutions that align with student’s academic interests and career goals. This includes offering insights into various programs, their entry requirements, and general application procedures.

Application Assistance
At this stage, our Student Recruitment Counselors (SRC) guide prospective students while completing the application forms for their respective institutions. They tend to advise students on documents that need to be submitted alongside their application forms. They ensure that all required documents are submitted correctly and on time, which is vital for a successful admission. The assistance rendered here may also include scrutinizing personal statements, sighting recommendation letters, certificates and transcripts, and advising ahead on visa application procedure.

Communication with Institutions
During admission processing, we often act as intermediaries between students and educational institutions. We facilitate swift communication with respective institutions on behalf of our students, by helping to clarify any questions or concerns that may arise during the admission processing time. This can be particularly important as we have seen that most institutions would respond swiftly to the request from their agents than they would if students were to communicate directly with them. Therefore, our role here is to close the communication gaps between students and their selected institutions and vice versa.

Preparation for Next Steps
Once admission offers are received, we prepare students for the next steps, such as accepting or declining offers, meeting any condition on their offer, making tuition deposit (if required), advising on housing options and also preparing their minds towards making a successful visa application.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission requirements most times vary with countries. We have various lists of admission requirements based on the country of your choice. You must therefore ensure to contact our counselor for an appropriate list that matches your proposed study destination. See below a list of requirements for both local and foreign admissions.
If you have any query regarding admissions, do not hesitate to contact us on admissions@mecnigeria.com or call/whatsapp 07077975931/08060581501/07046736448 for quick help.
LOCAL AND FOREIGN ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
For the sake of clarity, local admissions are those that students seek when they are planning to study in any Nigerian – based institution while foreign admissions are for those planning to study abroad.
GETTING LOCAL ADMISSIONS THROUGH MEC
We guide students towards securing admissions into private, state and federal institutions in Nigeria; but it is important for you to know that our strength is mainly in private institutions where admission processing is more transparent and students get admission offers mostly based on merit. We process admissions ranging from secondary to tertiary level of studies.
SECONDARY LEVEL
Students will have to pass through the following steps in order to secure admission into a secondary school, be it private or public:
1. Complete a registration form
2. Take a pre – admission entrance test (depending on school)
3. Attend oral interview
4. Get some advice
5. Deployment into a suitable school
We advice you professionally on best options in terms of school to choose and courses to take so as to excel in the long run; although parents and guidance have the final say.
TERTIARY LEVEL
Studies here can either be at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. Admissions procedure at each level differs greatly.
For Undergraduate Admissions
Students seeking undergraduate admissions into any tertiary institution locally (i.e. Nigerian – based) must meet the following requirements:
- Have up 5 credits in WAEC or NECO (a credit in English is a MUST)
- Have written and obtained good score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Attend post – UTME screening tests for their selected institutions.
- Getting admission letter
The entire process can be solved mathematically if 100% left in our hands. We cannot secure admission for a student with poor results; this is why we advise parents to leave the entire process of getting admissions for their wards into our hands for easy accountability.
For Postgraduate Admissions
Students seeking postgraduate admissions into any tertiary institution locally (i.e. Nigerian – based) must meet the following requirements:
- Have previously completed at least HND or Bachelor degree and have obtained good grades
- Passed the institution’s entrance examination
- Send official transcripts from their previous tertiary institutions
- Getting admission letter

Applications for admission are received any time before the deadline dates of the institution of your choice. However, students are advised to make early applications in order to secure a place on their course. It is also very important that you finish all necessary discussion with your sponsor as regards financial sponsorship before submitting your application.
Do I really need to discuss with my sponsor before or when contacting MEC?
NO, if you are self – sponsored; but YES, if someone else will be sponsoring you. They need to be aware since it is their fund you will need in the later part of the journey.

It varies from school to school. Each school has its own processing time. In most cases, processing period depends on the time of making application, because applications are treated on first – come, first – served basis. Early applications attract swift response from schools. In any case, we can be looking at a processing time of one (1) to two (2) weeks if all application supporting documents are complete.

The immigration is also very much interested in whether or not you are a genuine student by ensuring that you make reasonable deposit off your tuition (especially when demanded by the institution). Although most schools in Europe may not send you any visa document or letter until such deposits are made.
Can my tuition fees be paid by installments?
Yes in most cases; but the number of installments depends on the institution concerned. Some institutions offer discounts to students who pays the whole of their tuition fees in advance of enrolment. Please ask our Counselors for such details.

You will also enjoy the opportunity of getting quicker and faster refunds in case of visa refusal.
How easy will it be to secure my visa?
If you are truly a genuine immigrant or student, and all rules as instructed by MEC have been carefully obeyed, then we can assure you that your visa chances are high. Although, due to the process of obtaining visa at some embassies, we may not be able to guarantee anyone a visa. The best we can do is to ensure that we scrutinize your documents very carefully and advise on additional documents (where necessary) but we certainly cannot guarantee anyone a visa.
How long does visa application takes at the embassy?
It depends on country. The duration varies from one country to another. You can consult us or the embassy of the country you wish to study for more information.
What then happens to my deposited fund if visa is unsuccessful?
If you are refused a student visa after making some initial tuition deposits, ensure to contact us immediately so we can advice you on what next to do. Generally, tuition fees deposited are refunded in full if students are able to contact the school before the start date of their programs. In some cases, institutions will only make refunds after deducting some administrative charges from the sum deposited. These charges varies from school to school but you can find out from us or directly from the institution if need be. No refund is made in case where visa is refused because applicant submitted false documents.
